My neighbor says there’s no point in having my pool water tested!

Question: We are often asked why a neighbor’s water might be fine if he has never tested his water.

Answer: There is a good chance that the neighbor’s water is very unbalanced since it is not adjusted according to the disturbances. In reality, beautiful water is not necessarily good water. Vinegar is 100% clear, but how harmful is it to your skin and equipment?

Here are some little tips to help you have good water:

• Drain your pool water 24 to 48 hours after opening your pool.
• Use more natural products.
• Check your water parameters weekly. For example, chlorine level, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness and stabilizer.
• Empty your skimmer and pump baskets frequently.
