My water was almost crystal clear, I added some chlorine and now it has a greeny but still clear color

Question : My water was almost crystal clear, I added some chlorine and now it has a greeny but still clear color, what went wrong??

Answer : Some metals, like iron or copper probably entered your pool after after the last fill. Chlorine coming into contact with a certain amount of metal will result into oxidation, creating stain and water pigmentation. In short explanation, your eyes can now see the oxidized metal in the water and it’s color ! This can also lead to stain on the liner, surface or equipment. If the metals are not removed from the water, every time you will add chlorine thinking it will fix your ‘green color’ problem, you will just make it worst.. ! There are different ways of dealing with metals, like the Dazzle Eliminator when put in your pump basket will slowly catch it and take it out of the water for you. You will want to neutralize the metals while the process of removing them take place using the Dazzle Stain & Scale product periodically. After adding Dazzle Stain & Scale to the water, you can resume your regular water maintenance with chlorine without fear. It is also possible that you will see stains and discoloration of your ladder, step, skimmer or other white goods. If it is the case, you should first remove the metals that penetrated them using a product called Stain Free, then proceed to the metal removal from your water. You pool will look much better in a short amount of time !
